Two travel cots and two highchairs are available.

 

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted indoors.

 

Toilets

The two Farmhouse bedrooms share a loo and bathroom.  All the other bedrooms in the barn have their own en suite loos and there is an additional disabled loo and washbasin on the upper level of the Haystore.

 

Linen and Towels

Bed linen, duvets and blankets are included.  Towels are provided free of charge in the bedroom but please bring beach towels for the hot tub and paddling in the river.

 

Heating and Electricity

As a self-catering guest, electricity is charged for on consumption with payment prior to departure.

 

Heating is included; Andy’s pride and joy (the wood chip boiler) fuels the central heating so you can have it as warm as you like.  The wood is locally sourced and sustainably harvested through the Dartmoor Wood Fuel Co-operative.  Logs for the wood-burner in the Haystore are also included at no extra price.

 

Utilities

In the stainless steel commercial kitchen, there are two dishwashers, one microwave, a fridge-freezer and a gas fired oven (no grill).  We also have a drying room, a tumble drier, a washing machine and a payphone.  Mobile phone signal is sketchy.

 

Groceries and Catering

There are no supermarkets in walking distance of Brimpts Farm. Tavistock and Ashburton are the closest towns (both twenty minutes drive away). You can pre-arrange a supermarket delivery through the usual channels but if you want to support local businesses, please speak to Gabrielle on 01364 631450 and we can put you in contact with our suppliers.

 

We can also prepare all your meals for you in advance and provide a full waitress service on request.

 

Entertainment

Broadband internet connection is available free of charge, we have three televisions, one video player, one DVD player, a small games room, a sauna and an alfresco hot-tub with views over Yar Tor.

 

Dogs

Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement but must be kept on the lead around livestock.  We have three of our own dogs and two cats so they need to be well socialised.

 

Parking

Free parking is available.

 

Play Area

Children are welcome to use the play area but must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Farm Walks and Tours

There are a number of way marked, scenic walks about the farm which all our guests are free to enjoy.  Self-guide leaflets are available from the Farmhouse.  Andy also offers Farm tours from the comfort of the land-rover by prior arrangement.

 

Climbing Wall

We have a thirty foot high climbing tower on the Farm too and climbing and abseiling activities can be organized with qualified instructors on request.

 

Loose Boxes

We have two loose-boxes and a well fenced paddock if you wish to bring your horse / pony and stay at Brimpts.  Our own Dartmoor ponies are not stabled and the stallion runs with the mares all year round.
